  1. I would love to hear if any of you use this in your classroom.

  2. Yes, I showed this youtube video last week before Thanksgiving to the 5th/6th grade students. One student commented "Oh, so that's why we have a first draft..." He made the connection between writing and revision. We discussed how some students can intertwine several parts of the writing process together, multi-tasking while other students need to brake down the writing process and complete one process then start another. We talked about how each student processes and preform revision based on their learning style. It was an interesting conversation and one we will revisit. I plan on showing this youtube video to the other classes.

  3. I sincerely wish that I had been keeping up with this class in a more timely manner after viewing this video. I could offer many excuses, some of which are accurate, such as the fact that I have the most students of any teacher in our school, and moving through the semester is a lot like riding the Chisholm Trail. I regret not seeing this earlier when I was trying to discuss, explain, demonstrate, and create meaning among my students about the good purposes of revision. My apologies. This is really good stuff.
